Piezography releases lowest cost ever Piezography system for small format EPSON printers.
Amazing offer to save an additional $50 when you purchase a 10% off bundle of 50 sheets of Hahnemuhle German Etching paper and 2 sets of Piezography Neutral K6 inks for one of these supported printers.
Here is an opportunity to mentor with two masters of photography and printmaking:
Clyde Butcher is leading a workshop on black and white printmaking at Cone Editions Presss - June 12-15, 2007
Tyler Boley is teaching a workshop at Cone Editions Press - June 19-22, 2007.
Amadou Diallo interviews Jon Cone for his new book Mastering Digital Black and White. They talk about the history of Jon's b&w inkjet systems from 1993 to today and digital print life in general.
Piezography Neutral K6 for the EPSON R200, R220, R300, R300M, R320, R340, RX500, RX600, RX620, RX640 printers is a first for many reasons:
1 first.) This is the first Piezography K6 system we have ever released for a low cost printer family. With most models ranging in the sub $150 range, this is nearly a rebate for buying yourself a new color printer upgrade.
2nd first.) First time a sub $150 range printer can produce higher quality b&w output than EPSON®'s latest generation of Ultrachrome® K3 printers. Swap your color ink set for Piezography K6 ink set and your printer will print higher resolution images with much greater detail than your EPSON printer can with EPSON inks. It will print higher resolution images with greater detail than even the latest generation 3800, 4800, 7800 and 9800 printers.
3rd first.) First time your printer will be able to print a neutral black and white print and do so with quality that rivals that of much more expensive Piezography b&w printmaking systems. And you can sell Piezography Neutral K6 prints with confidence that they have not been printed with various amounts of color inks that are a part of the more expensive EPSON Ultrachrome K3 system in its quest to produce "neutral". Piezography does it with six shades of a pure achromatic ink. Its simply neutral ink. And there are not 3 shades of it, but six!
4th first.) First time your printer will be able to produce darkroom quality prints. This pure carbon pigment solution contains no dye and is not designed for glossy papers. Each of the six inks is a different shade of neutral gray, so that the user's choice of paper can determine the "color" of the print. Like darkroom paper, selecting a warm sheet will produce an overall warm tone. And Neutral K6 inks will appear cool on cooler white shades. For Neutral we recommend Innova Photo Smooth Cotton paper. Hahnemuhle Museum Etching produces a greater dMax with a gorgeous tone of Neutral. Both of these sheets are pleasers. But you may want to try as many samples as possible to determine your favorite tone. There is neutral and there is neutral. Only Piezography Neutral K6 ink can produce the true photographic effect of neutral. Other ink jet systems require the use of color inks in combination with black to produce spectral neutral. That's just too technical, too artificial, and too non-photographic.
5th first. : ) Piezography produces a natural photographic looking print with great depth to its surface that should make your eyes happy. So when was the last time this generation of printer made your eyes happy? And printing pictures of babies don't count! When was the last time you noticed how great your printer prints? That's what Piezography does to an EPSON printer. We think that this is your opportunity to notice what a great investment you made in one of these printers before EPSON discontinued them!

Piezography Neutral K6 is unique in offering six shades for ultimate quality. All six of the Piezography Neutral K6 inks are used when making a print, which results in a print of the highest quality. Smoother tonal transitions, greater detail, and a completely dotless print are the hallmarks of Piezography Neutral K6 printing.
This new carbon formulation gives unprecedented ease in start-up so that even flush cartridges are unnecessary for desktop printers. And this is the first ink we have designed which is conducive to long resting periods within the printer.
This ink was designed for the new EPSON print head technologies. We made it finer in particle size, with a more precise distribution band afforded by superior filtering with a one-micron fiber type osmosis filtering system for six cycles. We put the finished pigment in a suspension we call "slippery" so that it works through the smaller micro-channels of EPSON print heads. And finally, we were able to give it additional longevity protection. All in all this is our best ink to date. |
What software is needed to get the best from these inks?
Roy Harrington's QuadTone RIP is a $50 shareware software. Compatible with both Macintosh and Windows, this innovative software allows direct printing of images. InkjetMall has created a full compliment of paper profiles for the EPSON R200, R220, R300, R300M, R320, R340, RX500, RX600, RX620, RX640 printers. Our profiles are created in house with our own profiling software which has been made to be compatible with QuadTone RIP. Our profiles are as near perfect as possible. We believe these are all you need. However, QuadTone RIP allows any user with a densitometer or x-Rite EyeOne spectrophotometer to create their own QuadTone curves with its built-in linearization feature! Download QTR here. Simply install our ink cartridges in your printer, dial up the Neutral K6 curve for the appropriate printer, and print! A complete list of the papers we profiled are here. |

Printing at Cone Editions with Clyde Butcher - June 12-15, 2007
This is an amazing opportunity to mentor with Clyde Butcher. He's an amazing photographer, conservationist and teacher. His black & white large format photographs are stunning. And his Photoshop techniques are intuitive and fast. We look at this workshop as having the potential to be a large format printathon with ample opportunity for guidance and advice. Call Cathy Cone at (802) 439-5751 to sign up. There are only a few places left! Group is limited to 7. To guarantee your seat click here to buy online.
Clyde Butcher lives on 13 acres in the middle of the Everglades and has been taking pictures of Florida Landscapes for more than 23 years. His work is often compared to Ansel Adams, although he feels his photographs are more intimate portraits of the grandeur of natural landscapes.
"When I first came to Florida, everyone was shooting birds and deer, but I thought there was more to Florida than birds and deer, there’s where they live."
"The decline of landscapes in Florida is tremendous. It’s worse than the Amazon. Every Wal-Mart or Home Depot is another 50 acres gone. We’re constructing ourselves to death."
"Color is too confusing. You can’t see the forest for the color. It’s so green you can’t even see what’s happening. If you look at it as an environmental thing, color distinguishes different aspects ofnature, but black and white makes it one. Nature is different parts of one whole."
"Before the death of our son, the images were products. After Ted's death, they became art that could educate people about the loss of the world around them. When something like that happens, you can either become positive or negative. If you become negative, you've wasted a soul." |

Maximizing personal workflow for expressive digital B&W fine art prints - June 19-22, 2007
That's the name that Tyler came up for a workshop he was finding hard to describe. Tyler Boley is the undisputed World Champion of Piezography inks and StudioPrint experimentation! His prints are absolutely stunning. This is an opportunity to mentor with a real carbon printing Master. And its also an opportunity to learn all you wanted to know at the birthplace of Piezography: Cone Editions Press in East Topsham, Vermont.
There are only a few seats left so call Cathy Cone at (802) 439-5751 or click here to buy online and guarantee you are one of seven lucky participants!
"I was very impressed with the K3 prints at PhotoExpo in NYC. But... I had a religious experience looking at Tyler Boley's PiezoTone prints in his studio!"
John Vitollo, photographer/printer
"...I think this print best illustrates the almost 3D quality one sometimes sees with inkjet prints, where there are textures on the paper that you have to actually touch to prove to yourself they aren't really sitting above the surface. And the amount of detail and clarity makes you also dive into the print to explore all the deeper regions, as if you could burrow right into it... Amazing!"
Nina Contini-Melis, photographer, Paris, France
"I found Tyler's work simply stunning and the technical perfection of his printing was off the charts..."
John Driggers, Seattle, WA
