EPSON 1280 printer driver changes
(Updated June 1, 2005)

Epson's newest 1280 printer driver no longer lists dpi values. Now it offers "quality type" settings. Below is a list of the different setting choices and what relate to in terms of dpi.

OLD DRIVER
720dpi
1440dpi
2880dpi

NEW DRIVER
"Photo"
"Best Photo"
"Photo RPM"

For printing with the Piezography BW ICC system, we still recommend 1440 as the best combination of print quality and speed. If you are using the new driver, from now on you will select the "Best Photo" setting.

Note to iQuads users: the dpi setting you use to print your iQuads target should be the same setting you make your prints through, when using the iQuads ICC profile. If you prefer to print at 2880dpi, then you should print your target at this, or at the "best photo" setting.

All other driver settings (media type, color management, etc.) should remain at their original settings.
