Tech Support Epson 3000 - banding There are several reasons why banding occurs: dirty or clogged nozzles, mis-aligned nozzles, paper feed, micro-weave off. Procedure: 1 In your Utilities menu, run a nozzle check test. The entire pattern should print. A missing line will result in banding. Perform cleaning procedure to unclog missing lines. 2 Are all the lines in a step pattern? Occasionally a line may jump up or down resulting in a gap. In this case run the align nozzles procedure. 3 Thicker papers should not be run through the auto-sheet feeder if possible. If your printer model has a tractor feed - this is the perfect area for feeding paper in a straight-through manner. Do not use the tractor feeds, but rather place the paper above the feeds. Inserting the sheet will cause an auto feed to occur. After the edge of the paper touches the sensor, you will have approximately 1.5 seconds to make certain that it is aligned properly. The paper will feed in about 1/2 inch. .
